Chamber Events and Projects

In addition to supporting our community and members with their own special events, the Chamber puts on some of our own.

Christmas Festival
The Saturday after Thanksgiving marks Glenns Ferry’s official kick-off to the Christmas season. The day is filled with holiday shopping at local businesses, judging for the community wreath contest, and Santa’s festive arrival to light the Chamber and VFW Christmas trees. The celebration wraps up at the theater with cookies, cocoa, and a chance for kids (and kids at heart) to visit with Santa.
4th of July Parade
Glenns Ferry is known for having the most fun July 4th celebrations around—and the festivities last for days. From open shops and live entertainment at the winery to family-friendly activities throughout town, there’s always something happening.
Have guests in town? Looking for fun things to do with the kids? You’ll find something for everyone. On July 4th, enjoy a full day of celebration featuring a community breakfast, parade, games, food, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show to cap it all off.

Contact us if you'd like to submit a float in the parade or you'd like a booth at the City Park.

Golf Tournament

The Chamber’s annual golf tournament returns the first weekend every August—now proudly renamed the Colonel Dale Smith Memorial Golf Tournament, honoring the man whose dedication shaped this beloved Glenns Ferry tradition for many years. Carrying that legacy forward, Cody Fischer steps in to lead this premier community event. With a maximum of 15 teams, golfers compete for prizes at every hole, plus overall game awards—making every swing count.

There are plenty of ways to be part of the fun: Enter a 4-some, sponsor a hole or game, or cheer on players as an enthusiastic spectator. Join us for a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and a meaningful tribute to a legacy.
Chamber Banquet and Citizen of the Year
The Chamber’s annual banquet is a fun-filled evening bringing together local businesses and community members to celebrate the year ahead. Guests are invited to meet newly elected officers, take part in the table decorating contest, bid on raffles and silent auction items, and enjoy a great meal paired with lively entertainment.

A highlight of the evening is the announcement of Citizen of the Year. Nominees come from Glenns Ferry, Hammett, or King Hill and are submitted with a short paragraph explaining why the individual deserves recognition for outstanding service to our community.

Scarecrow Stroll Contest
Fall fun is calling! This season let’s dress up the town and turn our streets into a festive celebration of creativity, color, and community spirit.

The Scarecrow Stroll officially begins the first week of October, but why wait? Start decorating your home or business anytime and let your fall flair shine early. The more scarecrows popping up, the more magical our town becomes.  Judging takes place during Downtown Trick or Treat on October 31, so bring your A-game and show off your autumn imagination!

Vice President: Jodi Askew
Jody and Jeff Askew were looking to move closer to children and grandchildren when they drove through Glenns Ferry. It was between Twin Falls and Boise where children lived. It was perfect. They put their house on the market in Caribou County, where they had lived for 25 years and bought a little farmstead on the edge of town. Jody worked at the school teaching computers to elementary students and driving bus for eight years before her husband bought the hardware store Homestead Supply. She now “has another horse to ride” as she puts it while she learns the retail side of life. She loves the history of Glenns Ferry, but most of all she loves the people of this wonderful community.

Secretary: Colleen Teevin
Colleen married into Glenns Ferry from Hailey, ID around 2020. Shortly thereafter, she opened a farm store, Six Creeks Mercantile, to provide the area with her family's organic and regenerative farm's products. It is a place focused on healing our bodies, our minds, and the earth. When not working at the Merc or the farm, she loves mixing herbal remedies, and learning new and challenging things to keep her engaged with the wild world around us. She holds a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology and a master's degree in natural resources management.

Treasurer: April Huntington

As the President of Your Books Right and co-owner of Nomads Cache, she is committed to the Glenns Ferry business community. When she isn’t studying for her upcoming business degree from Boise State or volunteering her services to local nonprofits, you can find her exploring the rugged beauty of Idaho.

Ashley Hett
Originally from a small town in North Dakota, Ashley never imagined she would one day choose small-town life again—until Glenns Ferry captured her heart. She quickly fell in love with the town’s character, potential, and strong sense of community, and proudly calls it home, since 2018. Inspired to be part of Glenns Ferry’s growth and future, Ashley opened Rural Lane Collective in 2023. She enjoys collaborating with others, helping plan events that bring people together, and contributing new ideas that support and strengthen our community.
